For those who do not want to go radical with performance tuning such as 47mm or 51mm, but fancy a little more grunt, there is a 65cc cylinder kit with noticeably better drive than the 50cc original. This cylinder kit will iron out holes in the drive as well as on inclines. Kit includes cylinder, piston, piston ring set, oil scraper rings, gudgeon pin, gaskets and circlips. This 63cc cylinder kit comes with special piston. The piston has a molybdenum friction-reducing coating on the piston skirt for the run-in period and 2 CNC-machined oil grooves to stabilise the oil coverage. Lubrication of the gudgeon pin is taken straight out of motorsport and is aided by additional oil holes and grooves.
For the SYM Mio, we recommend removing the black wire on the CDI and removing the de-restrictor “washer” from the variator for best performance.
