With the possibility to choose between two different angles, you can influence the acceleration potential according to your engine’s power. When only riding around town, this adjustment won’t change much, as it is rather intended for racing applications. For the common daily commuter, it is more interesting that with the straight layout of the slots, the existing power can be transferred to the rear wheel without losses.
